Another packed house witnessed another storming performance as Sergei Rebrov's double and a goal from Les Ferdinand overturned Everton's 2-0 lead.
The German midfielder celebrated in his own inimitable way - by throwing his shirt into the crowd after the final whistle. "It was a little thank-you from myself for the fans' support," said Freund afterwards. "I believe after a game like that it is important to give something back.
"The supporters were great again. Even when we went 2-0 down they stayed right behind us and for me, that helped us turn things around.
"When we were pushing on in the second half we could hear the fans behind us and my feeling is if they can do that in every game, we can beat anyone at White Hart Lane."
Freund was naturally delighted after the memorable victory. "To go down 2-0 against anyone in the Premier League is very hard and it was a fantastic performance to come back," he said. "We showed great spirit, Sergei scored two goals which was very important for him and the fans were right behind us. I cannot wait for West Ham now!"
