Steffen Freund reckons the winner of Brazil v England will go on to the World Cup Final - he's hoping for a 'dream' final of England v Germany.
Our midfield marauder has kept a close eye on both countries' progress as he works his way back to fitness back home in Germany after his knee operation.
And he believes his choice of final is very much on - England and Germany to slug it out in Yokohama on June 30.
"For me, whoever wins between England and Brazil will reach the final," Steffen pointed out.
"It is an unbelievable quarter-final - it could be the final - but that is what you have to overcome in tournament football.
"Both England and Brazil have already beaten quite difficult opponents in Belgium and Denmark and funnily enough, whoever wins will have an easier semi-final.
"As I have said before, I play in England and I would love to see England progress all the way to the final. Hopefully, that will be the dream final against Germany."
Steffen, who played for Germany in the Euro 96 semi-final against England at Wembley, insisted that Rudi Voller's men couldn't have asked for a better run to the latter stages.
He added: "I have been happy with how Germany have played, okay, we have had a little luck here and there, especially against Ireland, but I now believe we will beat USA in the quarter-finals.
"Germany would have certainly expected to have played harder teams along the way but if you said before the tournament you would have to play Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Cameroon, Paraguay and USA to reach the semi-finals you would take it."
