Midfielder Steffen completed his first match action in over seven months on Wednesday and Steve Carr is running again less than a fortnight after his hamstring pull at Everton.
Steve was back out training after the main group had returned today and the club appear confident he will return before the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Steffen played for an hour in a practice match for the reserves against Fulham at Spurs Lodge.
The German favourite has been out since rupturing a cruciate ligament against Chelsea in January and reported no problems. "There was no reaction after the game, I'm happy and very positive," he said after training.
Assistant boss John Gorman was delighted to relay the good news at this afternoon's press conference.
He reported: "It's good news on Stevie, he's looking really good and running again. Steffen Freund played for the reserves, came through well and since he's come back from Germany he's looked tremendous.
"We'll give him as much time as we feel is right. It would be silly to rush him back but, you know what Steffen's like, he's biting at the bit to get back."
Look out for more from Steffen in his latest diary entry, coming tomorrow...
