After being absent for six games with the ankle injury sustained in the win at Leicester, the French striker returned to the first team fold last week and responded with goals eight and nine of the season in the games against Manchester City and Wolves.
It was quite a way to announce his return to action but Fredi, ever modest, points out that the manner of performance by the team made is easy for his to slot straight back into goalscoring mode.
"I am happy about it, but it was the team performance that was good," explained Fredi. "In the last two games, especially in the first half against Manchester City, the team played fantastically.
"When I came on at the end of the game it was easy because they made the goal for me.
"It is always good because I was out for more than one month and it is always good for the confidence to score two goals in one week. I hope it is not going to stop," he said hopefully, before adding that his aim for the season remains success.
"I think we are working better together now and I think the team is getting its shape now. I think we can achieve something and can hopefully do something good in the Carling Cup and still have one to go.
"We have the ability to win something this year."
Fredi Kanoute considers that the team is 'taking shape' and believes the capture of silverware is a real possibility this season.
