The pair had only played together for 45 minutes before their first start against Coventry City in the Carling Cup last night.
But they look like they've hit it off instantly and combined twice inside 25 minutes to hand us the perfect start with a goal each at Highfield Road. We ran out 3-0 winners as Rohan Ricketts grabbed a late third.
Fredi, whose early strike made it five goals in six games for the club, says there is already an understanding between himself and fit-again Robbie.
"I know the kind of player Robbie is and I like him because he likes a trick on the ball, plays good football and we understand each other very well," he said after our second round success at Highfield Road.
"I've seen him in training and I like his style. When the ball came to Robbie for my goal I was already on my run because I knew he would see me."
Fredi never looked like he was going to miss that one-on-one chance - the mark of a man in form.
"It is all about confidence," he added. "When you've scored a few goals you are always in a good frame of mind to score again.
"It's good when you score at the start of a game as well because that confidence spreads to the rest of the team.
"It was an important win, important for the confidence. Now we need to do the same in the Premiership."
Fredi Kanoute feels his partnership with Robbie Keane is developing by the day.
