Norwich is followed by Chelsea away next Sunday, a Carling Cup trip to Oldham on Wednesday and the visit of Manchester United to WHL on the Saturday.
"I think we have to take three points although it could be a hard game and I'm sure it will be," reasoned the striker.
"We need to take points from home games like this because we know we have difficult games coming up.
"If we can get the confidence of three points this weekend we can going into the next game in good shape."
In good shape is what the team appear to be at the moment after a promising start to the campaign - a relief to Fredi after recent early season struggles.
"It is very good, it changes almost everything when you start well. In the last few years I have always started off badly with defeats and it is very difficult to put it right.
"Having started well we have the confidence and hopefully it will keep going like this.
"There is a good spirit and it is easier to have when you have good results - I think it will increase as we develop."
Meanwhile, Fredi spared a few words for fellow frontman Jermain Defoe, who he tips to become an England regular following his strike against Poland on Wednesday.
"It is good for him, he is on fire at the moment and has a lot of confidence. Every time he has an opportunity he seems to score and it is a special time for him.
"I think he is going to be in the national team from now and play more and more."
Fredi Kanoute is expecting a tough contest against Norwich City at the Lane on Sunday but considers it crucial to win the three points to take into a challenging period ahead.
