Fredi Kanoute now just wants to get on with the football after completing his move from West Ham United on Monday evening.
Speaking at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday, the Frenchman explained that he is happy that his long speculated on transfer has now been realised and hopes that the switch proves to be a positive one for all concerned.
"It is good - now I am just going to concentrate on the football bit. I am happy it has happened and I hope it is going to be a very good experience for me and the club."
While Fredi confirms that he was not seeking to engineer an exit route out of Upton Park following the club's relegation to Division One, he is glad that he will continue to ply his trade in the top flight.
"I wanted to come back into the Premiership and wanted to step forward from a sport point of view. I want to achieve something and take on a challenge - that is why I have come over here.
"I want to win because it was hard for us at West Ham as a team last year. It was hard, but we finished the season quite well and had something good happening. We only deserved to go down because we didn't get any points at the beginning of the season.
"It was not a case of not wishing to play in the first division, it was time for me to move having spent three years at West Ham. For every player it is the same, there comes a time when you want to achieve something at another club and have another experience."
