Fredi Kanoute believes his new striking colleague Mido is ideally suited to the challenge of prospering in English football.
The loan recruit from Roma joined just ahead of the January transfer deadline and made an almost immediate impact, chipping in with two goals towards our 3-1 victory over Portsmouth just under two weeks ago.
Fredi witnessed the Egyptian international playing for former club Marseille, where he forged a productive partnership with another striker in his debut season in the Premiership.
"I know him a little bit from last year, not so much from international football," reported Fredi. "More from Marseille where I used to watch him and he was playing up front with Didier Drogba last year.
"It was quite a good partnership until he left for the African Nations Cup. I know he is a good player, a good left-footed player who is strong as well. A complete player.
"Being strong helps you succeed in English football I think. It is not enough though, you have to have the skill to go with it and I think he has plenty of that."
