Fredi on the fight back

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Fredi Kanoute reflected on our comeback against Arsenal after another amazing derby and admitted: "We had nothing to lose."

The Mali international won't forget his first North London derby in a hurry as an injury time penalty from strike partner Robbie Keane rescued a valuable point.

After a spine-tingling build-up in the stadium, Arsenal steamed ahead via Patrick Vieira inside three minutes and doubled their lead via Robert Pires after 34 minutes.

Jamie Redknapp kick-started the comeback with a 25-yard equaliser after 62 minutes before a late bust-up between Robbie and Gunners keeper Jen Lehmann led to a penalty and the Irish star buried the equaliser from the spot.

"I have never felt an atmosphere like that before a game," said Fredi. "We wanted so much to play well in the first half as well but we dropped too deep and gave them too much respect.

"That meant I was sometimes isolated up front and it was hard to play together.

"We had nothing to lose in the second half, 2-0 down and we had to try something. Every player took his responsibility, every player fought for every ball and in the end we deserved the draw.

"Sometimes you have to gamble. We know they have pace up front with Thierry Henry and other players but we had to try anyway.

"We were 2-0 down so if you try nothing, then it will stay the same. We didn't go forward without thinking, we stayed quite solid at the back and we played very well. It's good. It's late in the season but this result is good for us."
