Fredi on French strike threat

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Fredi Kanoute predicts that Liverpool's French international striker Djibril Cisse will quickly settle into English football.

The 21-year-old is expected to make his Premiership bow against us at the Lane on Saturday, having joined Liverpool from Auxerre in the close season after being linked with a switch to Anfield for the last two seasons.

Asked for an assessment on the £14m frontman, Fredi feels English fans will quickly see for themselves the attributes possessed by a player who has been coached at international level by Jacques Santini.

"I think everyone will see for themselves that he is very quick and very powerful," considered Fredi. "I think he is going to damage a few defences.

"He is definitely one of the best in France and has been top goalscorer for two years."

Fredi does not foresee any problems for Cisse in adapting to the fast pace and sometimes physical nature of the English game.

"It depends on the soul of the player, but I think this football will suit him well. He is strong and very quick so it is not going to take him very long to settle. It will be the same for Drogba as well - these players are strong and will fit in nicely."
