Fredi Kanoute said he was delighted to be back in the goals for Spurs after a busy summer and recent virus.
The striker played World Cup qualifying matches for Mali into July and, after a short break, returned to training at Spurs Lodge on July 19.
His progress was halted for a few days by a virus but he was back with bang at Forest on Saturday where he opened his account for the summer after 38 minutes in our 2-0 friendly win.
He teamed-up well with Jermain Defoe in a 45-minute stint - positive news with Robbie Keane out for the start of the season.
"I thought it went very well and it was great to be out there again," said Fredi.
"I feel okay. As I said last week, I actually feel pretty good at the moment, even though I was ill last week. I have played quite a lot over the summer so it's really just a case of trying to top up my fitness and get match fit.
"The results of the friendlies don't really matter that much but it was nice to get a win and, of course, it was a nice to score.
"I thought myself and Jermain worked well together and now we have a few more matches to work together before the start of the season."
