The big French striker arrived at the club last week after completing his switch from Upton Park.
After a late revival, the Hammers slipped into Division One on an agonising last day of the season at Birmingham City.
"It was hard for everyone and I now want to achieve success," Fredi reflected at Spurs Lodge.
"Relegation hurts and when you live the experience you don't want to live it again. I'm going to work hard and I think I will be an important part of the team.
"I'm here to hopefully help the club to be successful. I want to go forward, to achieve success, to play in Europe.
"I'm happy to be here and I know I've come here to achieve something."
