Fredi Kanoute resumed full training on Friday and is targeting a return against Portsmouth at Fratton Park next Monday.
The striker suffered a hamstring pull early in the game against Manchester United three weeks ago and unfortunately found himself sidelined just days after opening his goalscoring account against Oldham in the Carling Cup.
"It was my hamstring, a little pull in the muscle that is getting better," reported Fredi. "I started training on Friday and I think I will be available for Portsmouth. I haven't lost my fitness because it was only a small injury and I will be okay.
"I got it after ten minutes of the game and was unlucky, but sometimes these things happen at the wrong time. I've had to put up with it but it wasn't too bad and I'm happy it has only been ten days or so."
