New Sporting Director Frank Arnesen left a voice message for spurs(((on!))) subscribers first thing this morning and revealed that the structure being put in place at Spurs attracted him to the position.
The Dane, 47, takes up the role on July 1 and will oversee all matters relating to the football side of the club.
"I am very keen to go to a big club like Spurs - England is the Mecca of football," he said in his first spurs(((on!))) message.
"The structure chairman Daniel Levy is setting up suits me very well and I believe in that structure. This is one of the reasons I am joining.
"Together with board we will name a manager and he will be able to concentrate 100 per cent on the result of every game. It will be my job to transfer players, oversee the Academy, the medical situation - all the things inside a football club.
"First of all I want to go deep into the club, I have to learn all about it. I know the club from the outside, it is big club and together we will try for big results and trophies.
"This must always be the aim for a club like Tottenham."
