Franks for the memories

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Frank Arnesen has mixed memories of Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium - host of our second friendly in Sweden tonight.

Our new Sporting Director played enjoyed international success with Denmark but suffered heartbreak at the stadium during his time at Valencia.

He now returns for our friendly against Danish champions FC Copenhagen as part of the huge Gothea Cup youth tounament in the city.

"I have played at Gothenburg a couple of times," Frank reflected. "I remember playing there with my national team Denmark and we won 1-0 in a friendly but the most important game was a quarter-final of the UEFA Cup in 1982.

"I was playing for Valencia at the time and we drew 2-2 at home but lost the second leg 2-0 in Gothenburg.

"It was the start of a glory period for Gothenburg and they went all the way to the final and beat Hamburg. My memories of that evening were not so good!

"It is a beautiful stadium and I'm looking forward to going back."
