Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Frank Arnesen reasoned that he would consider arranging an overseas loan for one of our young players if the move was right, but feels domestic arrangements are generally more suitable.

Many of our players have been involved in loan switches this season including the likes of Dan Marney, Mark Yeates and Lee Barnard, while Calum Davenport (Southampton), Johnnie Jackson (Watford) and Mark Hughes (Oldham) are currently out topping up their experience.

Frank was responding to the question of whether the style of football often employed outside the Premiership is unfamiliar to our Academy products, who have been groomed to keep the ball down and play the passing game.

"It is correct, but you have to look at each case individually, ask what we are looking for at the club and what is best for the player.

"With Calum Davenport, we are looking for the player to be playing at the highest level and it is very important we see him perform at Southampton. Others like Dean Marney, who went to Gillingham, and others need more big game practice on a Saturday than the second team can give them.

"Other things come into your game, but it is correct that they will be asked to play differently to here. It can be that they go into a team that is struggling and have to cope mentally with this. It is part of the game you must develop.

"Mark Hughes went to Northampton where it didn't work out well, but now he is at Oldham and they love him. I am delighted for him as he is a good lad who is doing fantastically. Sometimes you have to be a little bit lucky as well."

So would an overseas option with a more technical game be beneficial?

"You never say never and, of course, we would do that if we could, for instance, get one player in at the highest level in Holland. It would definitely give him another element to his game.

"Mostly though, it is best to be in England, even if it is playing at a lower level in a different style."
