Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It is fantastic. I, like everyone else was looking forward to the first game and itching

to get going but, on the other hand, we were a little insecure as to how we were standing.

We had a curious pre-season with a lot of games, a lot of injuries and a lot of new

players - so I must say I was delighted after the game. I took the draw as a win!

Liverpool are one of the strongest teams, not only in England, but in Europe too.

Liverpool were better in the first half, but in the second we were excellent and the

mentality of the team was outstanding. That is what you need when you are not on top of

the game - to show character. I was very pleased with that and a big congratulations to

Jacques and his staff.

changes - see bedding down
I am optimistic. We have good players, young players and we are getting some players in to

combine everything.

We have a lot of things to do, a lot of work to do and I have seen Jacques and his staff

doing very well with the players. We will learn every day and we will only progress. It is

a long and hard season and we have the players to get good results.

That's right, that's right - but I'm used to it after all these years! I am damaged

already and it is my job.

It is a lot of work and it is exciting. I feel at home here at Tottenham, it is a great

club. I've only been here just over a month and I feel like I've been here a year. It is

still exciting.

I've always been of the opinion that if players come from far away they need time to

settle down and we will give them time. We know how it is, Jacques and his staff know and

I know.

Every game, especially in the first three months, if they play well it is like a gift.

Different culture, different way of training maybe - we have to take it all into account.

Atouba is young, he is strong and plays on the left side. He is probably a player who is

more left-back, left midfield - rather than left-midfield, left winger or outside. He is

22 and a Cameroon player who had a development period in Switzerland, which is very good.

he knows the discipline needed after five years there and played in the Champions League

for Basel as well.

He is a good character, has a good physique and a good left foot.

I know him very well. He had some difficulties at PSV because he couldn't get his passport

and was unable to play for two years.

At that time he was 16-17 years old and probably one of the most talented young players in

Europe. Unfortunately he couldn't get his Portuguese passport.

His background is from 12-16 he played in the youth system of Benfica as a striker before

going to Switzerland at 16-year-old and I signed him up about six months later. It took

him and us more than two and a half years to get his passport and he was not able to play.

He got his passport in October and went straight into the under-20 side of the Portuguese

national team for the World Championships, scoring against Italy and Brazil.

He never really settled in at PSV and, for me, it was the moment to take a look at him

again. I know him and, for no money, it is a good time to give him a chance.

He jumped at the chance and his been training with Jacques and his staff. Jacques said to

take him and he has a contract for one year here to prove himself.
