Our Under-18s made it 30 goals in their last six FA Premier Academy League games as they toppled Cardiff City 4-0 on Saturday.
Paul-Jose M'puku opened the scoring after 25 minutes against the only team to lower our Academy's colours this season, a 3-1 reverse against the Bluebirds back in October.
Ryan Mason soon made it 2-0 from M'puku's pass and the lads took control in the second half with further goals from John Bostock (pictured right) and M'puku.
The lads go into the FAPAL's winter break - the next league game is on January 17 - top of Group B with a record of just one defeat in 15 matches.
They have won seven of their last nine FAPAL matches and have actually won 23 of their last 32 in the league, losing only twice, in a run stretching all the way back to October, 2007.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe takes up the story. "Conditions were atrocious and I was pleased with how we adapted to them in the end.
"We knew Cardiff were good side, highly competitive and they beat us last time and to be fair, in the first 20 minutes, they were the better team.
"We eventually started to find our rhythm and imposed ourselves on the game and from there things became easier for us.
"The first goal came after 25 minutes from a set-piece where Andros Townsend curled in a free-kick for Paul-Jose M'puku to head in at the far post.
"The second goal came from good play from Paul-Jose, a perfectly weighted pass through to Ryan Mason who beat the goalkeeper and slotted home.
"We played well in the second half, adapted better to the conditions and controlled the game.
"John Bostock made it 3-0 after taking a free-kick while Cardiff were still arranging their defensive wall, quick-thinking on his behalf and Andros did well for the fourth goal, a fine cross on the run that saw Paul-Jose get in front of his marker to finish."
