Four back, four to go

Posted on 24 October 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle is happy to report that an ever-reducing injury list now only has four names on it.

Darren Anderton, Ledley King, Antony Gardner and Alton Thelwell all made successful comebacks in a friendly against Fulham on Tuesday - neither Darren, Ledley or Alton have kicked a competitive ball all season.

That leaves Mauricio Taricco (groin), Ben Thatcher (back), Christian Ziege (calf) and Neil Sullivan (broken thumb) still on the road to recovery.

It's a different picture to the depressing 13 players out earlier in the season - testament to the players who have taken us into third place before Saturday eagerly-awaited Premiership clash at leaders Liverpool.

Speaking at Spurs Lodge this afternoon, Glenn revealed: "On the injury front it's Christian Ziege, Mauricio Taricco, Ben Thatcher and Neil Sullivan. They are the major injuries.

"Darren Anderton, Ledley King, Antony Gardner are all players who have started playing matches and they've had a game against Fulham this week.

"Obviously Gus and Steve Carr have come back into the fray and Stephen Clemence has now played a few reserve games so it's a healthier situation.

"Everyone else is training, although not match fit, but we're looking at at stronger squad and the bench will be stronger, that's for sure."

We'll bring you news of the squad travelling to Anfield as soon as we know it...
