Over 45 participants originally took part in the trials from various colleges, five of whom are from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation programme. They were chosen to go to the first round of trials on October 3rd at Easton College.

In the second round of trials, Sophie, Danni and Lauren will team up and play, representing the East region. The girls will play against teams from other regions to try and earn their place in the final squad of 22 to represent the British College in England.

Karen Hills, Spurs ladies and Girls Football Programme Head coach, said: "I am pleased with hearing the outcome of the first round of trials as three of the girls were successful.

"The experience they will get from going through the trials is so important for their development within the women’s game, as not only will they learn how to adjust and play with new players around them, but they will also have the opportunity to experience different styles of coaching.

"After the success of the two girls from our programme who last year represented the British College National squad, I’m hopeful these girls will follow in their footsteps and go on to play in the new squad."

The next round of trials will take place on November 5th at Berkshire College of Agriculture in Berkshire.
