White Hart Lane was the stage of the launch and induction of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation as a Diploma in Hospitality employer champion this week.
Attendees of the launch were taken on an official tour of the stadium and witnessed a display from our Football Freestyler, Billy Wingrove.
The event, hosted by People 1st in conjunction with the DECN (the Diploma Employers Champions Network), highlighted how important it is for employers to get involved with the new Diploma in Hospitality and the benefits it can bring to their businesses.
Grant Cornwell, Chief Operating Officer of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation said, "As an organisation that recognises the need for exceptional staff to deliver our services to the community, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation fully support any programmes that help young people to acquire the skills and knowledge to help them gain employment in the workplace.
"The Diploma in Hospitality is one such programme which we believe will not only benefit young people but will also in the future help local businesses to reduce recruitment costs and also provide them with the opportunity to support and play an active part in their local community."
The Diploma in Hospitality will be taught in schools and colleges from September 2009 and is one of the broader suite of 14-19 Diplomas which are set to become one of the three main education choices post 14 - alongside GCSEs/A-levels and Apprenticeships.
