The midfielder claims he has sensed the disappointment of our supporters during a run of four games without a win – so he is determined to put smiles back on faces.
‘JJ’ therefore feels we must go into games against Reading, Liverpool and this weekend’s clash with Bolton Wanderers looking for maximum points.
He said: “The fans have been fantastic and they only want us to win, but they’re getting upset at games and you can understand why.
“The supporters pay their money to see the games and we should be putting in a good shift and hopefully getting a victory.
“These three games are important because we want to finish on a high. Nobody wants to lose the first three games and go on holiday with everyone feeling drab.”
As for Saturday’s visitors to The Lane, JJ is expecting a Bolton side back at their no-nonsense best after a surprisingly below-par season by their standards.
But two straight wins has taken Gary Megson’s side out of the bottom three and back to the sort of form which has seen them finish in the top eight for the past four seasons.
Jermaine added: “At the start of the season I think they tried to play a style of football they weren’t used to and didn’t find it to be a winning formula.
“It's hard to adapt to a different style of play, but in recent weeks they’ve gone back to the way they used to play, so we’re expecting a tough game.”
