Teemu Tainio insists it's vital we don't take our focus off league points as we continue to excel in cup competition.

The midfielder was outstanding as we overcame Reading 1-0 in Tuesday night's FA Cup 3rd Round replay at the Madejski Stadium to set up a mouth-watering 4th Round clash at Manchester United.

Our place in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Cup was booked long ago and no-one needs reminding of the Carling Cup semi-final, second leg at home to Arsenal looming large.

But Teemu insists Saturday's clash against Sunderland is the only thing on the players' minds as we look to put right successive away defeats in the Barclays Premier League.

"We know there are big games coming up like Arsenal in the semi-final but our focus has to be on Sunderland," said Teemu.

"Losing that focus on the league can be a danger sometimes when you are playing in all the cups, but we can't do that.

"We lost against Sunderland on the first day of the season and that's one we want to put right."

Teemu won the praise of Gus Poyet after his display at Reading and he was delighted to be involved in the win. "It was our third game in a short period of time and we knew they really wanted to win at home. We did okay, we kept a clean sheet, which is always important and it was a good win.

"It's not the easiest draw but if you want to go to the final, you have to beat the best teams and in one game, anything is possible."
