Our Academy squad completed a clean sweep in the group stages of the Eurofoot tournament in Belgium on Saturday.
After beating Cercle Brugge and NAC on Friday, the lads toppled Anderlecht, Standard Liege and Brondby to make it five wins in five, top Group A and set-up a semi-final clash against Celtic on Sunday.
"It's the first time we've won five straight games in a six-team group," said a naturally delighted coach Alex Inglethorpe. "Fair play to the lads, they've been outstanding."
They kicked-off the day with an impressive 4-1 win against Anderlecht with goals from Harry Kane (pictured), Kudus Oyenuga, Alex Pritchard and Massimo Luongo.
"That was the best performance so far, as good as anything I've seen," beamed Alex.
Standard Liege were then put to the sword with Pritchard on target from the penalty spot after a foul on Kane and further goals from Jack Munns and then Kane again in a 3-1 win.
The final group match was against Brondby of Denmark and Oyenuga scored the only goal of the game to make it five out of five.
The lads kicked-off with two wins out of two on the first day of the prestigious event in Oostduinkerke on Friday.
Cameron Lancaster, Kudus Oyenuga and Harry Kane scored the goals in a 3-2 win against Cercle Brugge in the first game.
Kane then struck again, outjumping the goalkeeper to score the only goal of the game against NAC of Holland.
"We got caught a couple of times defensively in the first game but played very well in the second match, dominated possession and deserved to win," reported Alex.
