Wayne Routledge, Teemu Tainio, Paul Stalteri,Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon all faced the media wearing our new Kappa kit at the training ground.
Four of the five — Paul is on his way back from injury — made their debuts at Stevenage Borough before playing their part in our Peace Cup triumph in South Korea.
Back at the Lodge this week after almost two weeks in Asia, Martin said: “It hasn’t taken a long time for them to settle in and to be honest, after a couple of weeks, it was like they’d always been here. I’ve been delighted with that.
“Teemu played across the midfield in the Peace Cup and was terrific, Wayne played a lot and was good, Aaron was a crowd-pleaser straight away and Tom played well in different positions. We had to do that because we had four games in nine days and we wanted to win the tournament as well. There was a lot of prestige at stake.
“Paul was injured, so that was unfortunate. He picked up an injury in the final game of last season at Werder Bremen but he’s doing okay and will start training again next week.”
Martin Jol said he’s been delighted with how our five summer signings have settled in as we unveiled the quintet at Spurs Lodge this afternoon.
