Paul Robinson described our fifth place finish as 'a real achievement' after racking up 59 matches in all competitions this season.

Fifth place was secured in the Barclays Premiership with Sunday's 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Lane with goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane putting us in the driving seat in the first half.

It meant we finished the Premiership with just one defeat in our last 12 games - at Chelsea just 32 hours after playing in Seville - winning eight, drawing three.

"It's been a very pleasing season with further progression and an end product in finishing fifth," reflected Robbo back at Spurs Lodge on Monday.

"We came close in the cups but finishing fifth is a real achievement especially with all competitions we've played in and the amount of games have had.

"Those games will be a positive thing for us. A lot of the lads hadn't played in Europe before this season and the first time they've had that amount of games to cope with as we progressed in the cups as well.

"The results we've had and the season we've had shows those games have had a positive affect as the more games we've played, the better we've got. We now have to maintain it going into next season."
