Our Football in the Community Co-ordinator Steve Grenfell stepped onto the pitch at Old Trafford before England's recent Euro 2004 qualifier against Liechtenstein to collect an award on behalf of the club's Community department
The PFA National Scheme invited the Tottenham Hotspur FITC to receive the award in conjunction with the Holiday Charter Standard - which relates to having certain standards in respect of child care in place at the club.
"It is in recognition of having implemented all the policies and procedures in and around child care that are in place - recognising that we run safe programmes for children during the holidays," reported Steve, who insists that it is vital parents are comfortable in leaving their children on the various schemes and courses run by the club.
"In terms of when children are being left throughout the day and the week with our coaches, it is important that parents are fully confident in leaving them for that period of time. Also, that we are aware of children's problems regarding allergies, diet and things like that.
"All our coaches are fully qualified CRB checked nationally, so all those requirements are in place and parents do feel comfortable in leaving their children."
