Kitchee SC 1-4 Spurs

Heung-Min Son delighted his adoring Asian fans with a fine goal as we toppled Hong Kong champions Kitchee SC at the Hong Kong National Stadium on Friday.

The South Korean star capped off a week that started with a whistle-stop tour of Seoul in his homeland with Ben Davies, Kevin Wimmer and Kyle Walker before jetting back to join the squad in Hong Kong and finally curling home a wonderful opening goal in a convincing victory against a Kitchee side that fought all the way.

Vincent Janssen quickly added a second, with fellow strikers Harry Kane and young Kazaiah Sterling - who almost scored with his first touch, a powerful angled header with just under 20 minutes left - adding their own names to the scoresheet in the closing moments.

Lucas Silva nabbed a consolation for the home side at 3-1.

Mauricio Pochettino named a strong starting XI, which included young central midfielder Filip Lesniak - a late debutant in last week's 6-1 win at Leicester City in the Premier League. As is the norm in friendlies of this nature, a flurry of changes in the second half ensured all 22 travelling players picked up some game time, with on-loan goalkeeper Pau Lopez making his senior debut for us. Centre-back Wimmer was the only player to complete the full 90 minutes.

Kitchee's Hélio had a header cleared off the line by Janssen just before the goals started to flow. Christian Eriksen's pass looking for Georges-Kevin Nkoudou was intercepted but the ball ran into Son's path and he made no mistake with a clinical curling finish from just outside the box.

Goal: Kitchee 0-2 Spurs - Vincent Janssen - 21mins
The second goal was all about Nkoudou's pace as he drove in from the left before a lovely reverse pass in to Ben Davies. He could have shot but squared for Janssen to fire home at the near post.

Chances: both sides close - 21-45mins
Both teams had shooting chances after our quick double. Kitchee failed to find the target through Ferreira and Lam from the edge of the box while Eriksen, Janssen and Eriksen again all forced saves, albeit routine ones, from goalkeeper Wang.

Woodwork: Janssen close to a second - 54mins
Mauricio Pochettino made five changes at the break and Son, Dele Alli and Janssen were soon in tune. Son had a close-range effort blocked before a Janssen curler with his right foot from 20 yards was turned onto the crossbar by Wang. The goalkeeper was busy at this point and made one spectacular flying catch to deny Wanyama.

Saves: both keepers in action - 62-71mins
Talk about substitutes making an impact! Just over a minute after replacing Pau Lopez, Michel Vorm made the save of the night from a Spurs perspective when he got down to his right to deny Akande. Sterling replaced Janssen on 69 minutes and 80 seconds later saw a powerful header clawed away at full stretch by Wang.

It had to be! Kane, last man off the bench on 75 minutes, picked up the ball left side and spotted Kieran Trippier's break forward down the right. Trippier sped into the box one side, Kane the other and he was there to receive the return pass, a trademark Trippier assist tapped home from close range.

A consolation goal for the home side arrived as Vorm went up for a cross with Akande and the ball looped high and landed at the feet of the grateful Lucas, who toe-poked into the empty net from a yard out.

Goal: Kitchee 1-4 Spurs - Kazaiah Sterling - 90+1mins
No sooner had Kitchee scored than we restored our three-goal advantage. Dele threaded a pass through to Sterling on the left angle and the young striker finished confidently across Guo, timing his touch well as the substitute keeper approached.
