Toby Alderweireld has left no doubt as to the target of the team in Moscow this evening.

We take on CSKA Moscow for the first time in Matchday Two of the UEFA Champions League. Kick-off is 7,45pm UK.

Defeat against Monaco in our Group E opener on September 14 has turned up the heat somewhat. On the same evening, Russian champions CSKA came from 2-0 down to take a 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen.

“We have to get a good result in Moscow,” said Toby, who has picked off this season where he left off his outstanding 2015-16. “We lost against Monaco so the pressure is on and we know that.

“We face a very good team in CSKA. They have a very good squad, they are very experienced at the back and good in midfield with a lot of creative players.

“It will be tough, but we need points. Our ambition is to progress to the next round.”

Ambition is the key phrase for Toby. “The hunger is there in the group, that’s the most important thing,” he added. “We’re a young, talented squad that wants to improve.

“We had a very good season last season but we’re not satisfied with that, we want to improve ourselves to be better this season.”
