This week’s visit to Stoke City marks the first of three consecutive Monday matchdays with West Bromwich Albion at home and Chelsea away still to come over the next fortnight as the run-in to the end of the season intensifies.
Naturally, that means we’ll be taking to the field after our rivals in the upper reaches of the Premier League table but centre-back Toby, ever-present for us on the domestic scene so far in 2015-16, insists that won’t be a problem.
“I think as a football player you don’t recognise the day a lot or look at what kind of day it is,” he said. “It doesn’t matter – you just train and go home, train and go home and work hard as part of your routine.
“Yes, these are big matches that we have coming up but we have to go game-by-game. The first is Stoke away, we know it’s going to be a tough match, they lost last weekend so now they’ll want to prove something again but we’re confident.
“We work hard all week for these games and we’ll be ready for Monday.”
