Spurs v Palace - Mauricio's preview

Posted on 20 February 2016  - 16:15

Mauricio Pochettino expects it to be a case of 'same again' as we meet Palace for the third time this season in the FA Cup on Sunday.

We've played out two close encounters in the Premier League with Heung-Min Son's late winner at the Lane in September before Harry Kane, Dele Alli's spectacular strike and a beauty from Nacer Chadli turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park last month.

Now we lock horns again with a place in the last eight up for grabs.

"Crystal Palace are a very good team with good players, fast up front, strong at the back," said Mauricio. "We’ve played twice, it’s been tough against them in both games and we expect the same again.

"It’s a different competition, the FA Cup, but this is like a Premier League fixture and it will be a very difficult game.

"It would be exciting to go to the next round because that would mean we go to the quarter-final and that’s important for the club and the players.

"It’s true we are in different competitions and have a lot of games ahead but we have a strong squad and it’s important to give our best and try to win again."
