The Austrian international centre-half admits our entire defence will need to be on form if we’re to contain Manchester City’s dangerous marksman in today’s 4.15pm kick-off.
But ahead of what promises to be a stern test in what will be only his fourth Premier League outing if selected, Kevin says he’s relishing the challenge of facing up to Aguero – and indeed the rest of City’s attackers.
“I’m really looking forward to playing against such a strong player as Sergio Aguero and the other forwards that Manchester City have,” said the 23-year-old, who has partnered Toby Alderweireld at the back for us since Jan Vertonghen picked up a knee injury at Crystal Palace last month.
“We all know that Aguero is one of the best forwards in the world and it’s not going to be easy to defend against him for the whole 90 minutes, but we will work together at the back and try everything to defend against him as well as possible.
“It’s not going to be easy for him either – of course he has a lot of quality, we all know that, but hopefully we will have a good performance from everyone at the back.
“We’re doing very well so far this season and a lot is possible because we have a young, very talented squad. Everybody wants to achieve big things and we’re all working very hard to reach our targets.
“This is a very important game for us and also a big opportunity.”
