Rose v Stanislas
Darren: "Danny Rose plays like a full-back and a winger all rolled into one. What does he want to do in matches? He wants to get on the ball, push forward and make things happen in the attacking third. He will want to keep Junior Stanislas running back towards his own goal as much as possible. It may well come down to who dominates the midfield and therefore has most possession, and I see us doing that."

‘Beat him once, you have to beat him again’
Darren: "If I was Stanislas up against Rose, I’d try to play my normal game, track back and then if Bournemouth win the ball, try to get in behind and get in early crosses. That’s very difficult though because if you play against someone as quick as Danny, if you beat him once, you’ll probably have to beat him again! He’s so quick, he’ll get back at you. That low centre of gravity means he’s always involved."

Back and forth
Darren: "The most difficult thing for Stanislas though and for me when I played is the more defensive side of the game. When you play against someone like Danny, a full-back who bombs forward all the time, the last thing you want to do is constantly have to track back because you want to be going forward, especially at home. I did that but as a winger, I wanted to create things all the time and make things happen but part of the job is the defensive side as well."

A change of tactics?
Darren: "I know Eddie Howe well. He gets his players to work hard and he likes his team to play attacking football. However, looking at the games last season, where we were comfortable winners, maybe they will change tactics a little. That’s why I think the midfield battle is so important and I believe we’ll have too much for them."
