The German giants haven't won in five Bundesliga outings and have struggled to hit their stride in Europe this term, picking up just two points from their opening four matches.
They must win and hope Real Madrid slip up at APOEL tonight if they're to hold any hope of qualifying for the knockout stages and will surely be targeting a repeat of their convincing 3-0 win the last time we played them at their home ground in the Europa League in March, 2016.
"We go there to try to perform well and win," said Mauricio. "Borussia Dortmund are not on a good run, they are suffering a little with results but not performances. They are playing well.
"This is a good team, good players and this is the last chance for them to be alive (in the competition), but they also rely on the Real Madrid game. They will try to beat us and we have to be ready for that, to fight and play in our best way."
Mauricio also underlined his desire to secure top spot in the table. Victory either tonight or at home to APOEL on December 6 would see us do that.
"We’ve already qualified and that’s so important with two games to play, Dortmund and APOEL," he added. "We play for top position in the group and that’s a fantastic achievement after last season. The team is moving up and that’s important for us. It’s a massive achievement for the team and for the Club. We need to play two more games and we are going to try to finish top of the table, knowing that it will be very tough against Borussia Dortmund."
Kick-off is at 7.45pm (UK time) tonight.
