"We gave our best and there are no regrets," said the goalkeeper. "We can be disappointed because we started to dream about this title but if we keep the same mentality and energy, we will be ready to compete for the next few years.
"We are improving step by step and we don’t know our limits, so that’s
very positive for the future, which has to be bright.
"Now we will
continue to do our best, just like we have done all season."
Hugo could do little as Chelsea pegged us back from 2-0 to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. The draw extinguished any lingering hopes of the title but the squad was already focusing on our final two matches of the campaign and trying to secure second place as they left the stadium.
"I thought it was a great team performance but unfortunately we couldn't hold on," added Hugo. "There is nothing more to say.
"We are ready to compete now. We are young but we showed maturity in our performance again. We are starting to become men.
"We can be proud of what we've done so far but of course there are still two games to go and we have to secure second place. We've done so well that it would be a big disappointment to not keep this place.
"We have to congratulate Leicester, they have done so well, no-one could have expected the title for Leicester but no-one could have expected second place for Tottenham, and now we have to finish the job properly.
"It’s very important to finish well, to finish above Arsenal and City would mean a lot."
Let's have a fan-tastic finale...
