Buoyant Erik Lamela reckons our "incredible" second half display at Stoke means we have momentum well and truly on our side going into the last four games of the season.

The Argentine international attacker squared for Harry Kane to roll home our third goal at the Britannia Stadium on Monday night as we ran out convincing 4-0 winners to close the gap on Premier League leaders Leicester City to five points.

Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli also hit the woodwork as we cut the Potters open at the back numerous times and Erik, who hailed a fine team performance, believes the manner in which we secured victory will springboard us nicely into our remaining matches.

"It was a very important win to keep the pressure on Leicester, both teams now have four games left and we just need to try to win every one," said the 24-year-old.

"I think we played a very good game, the second half was incredible and we could have scored more goals.

"I’m happy when we win like this, playing very well. I think these three points will help us to keep moving and now we are waiting for the next game."

Our travelling fans were in fine voice throughout Monday night’s match and one of the songs belting out from the away end was the familiar Erik Lamela version of Crowded House’s ‘Weather With You’.

The man himself spoke afterwards about how appreciative he is of that tremendous vocal backing week in, week out: “I understand the song and it’s great to hear! It’s good when the fans recognise you and I’m very, very happy because I play for that and to make the supporters happy.”
