Goal just reward for Trips - Ben

Posted on 8 February 2016  - 14:15

It was no surprise that the first words of praise for Kieran Trippier came from fellow full-back Ben Davies after the pair contributed hugely to our 1-0 win against Watford.

As well as helping the team to another clean sheet, the full-backs were constant attacking outlets throughout the game.

Ben came closest to breaking the deadlock with his raids down the left flank in the first half before ‘Trips’ went one better with the winner in the 64th minute.

“I’m delighted for Kieran,” said Ben. “We got forward a lot throughout, he had a great game and a goal was no less than he deserved.

“The competition is high and when you get the chance to pull the shirt on, whoever it is, you have to show why you’ve been selected.

“We all work hard together, we support each other whatever happens and the performances we’re putting in show that.

“Before the game as a back four we always have a chat and we always say if we do our jobs and keep a clean sheet we’ve got enough going forward to get a goal. This time a defender turned up with the goal and it was great to see Kieran get off the mark.

“Now we focus on the next one.”

And next up it’s a huge game in the Premier League at Manchester City on Sunday (4.15pm).
