The pressure was on with all the teams around us in the Premier League having won on Boxing Day and Tuesday.
However, it was a far from auspicious start as Virgil van Dijk headed the home team in front inside two minutes - we’d barely touched the ball.
We took over from there. We’d had eight shots by half-time, Harry Kane headed us in front on 52 minutes and when Nathan Redmond was red carded for bringing down Dele, we were well in control.

Harry slipped and missed the spot-kick and Christian Eriksen hit the crossbar before late goals from Heung-Min Son and Dele’s second made it three wins on the trot and five in seven.
“We were disappointed with the start,” admitted Mauricio. “It’s true, we can’t concede a goal how we conceded, it’s important to be more aggressive and focused. We only touched the ball when we went into the net to recover the goal.
“After 10, 15 minutes we started to dominate and handle the game and then the performance was fantastic.
“It was important to equalise in the first half and in the second half we increased the tempo of the game to move the ball quicker and we fully deserved it in the end.
"It’s always difficult to come here, Southampton are a very good team but we showed our character and personality."
On Dele’s goals
Mauricio: “Yes, important for him, Harry as well and Son, a great impact from the bench. There are a lot of positives, not only the three points but we feel very pleased with the performance.”
On the fans
Mauricio: “December 29th, Wednesday, 7.45pm is always difficult, but they were here and fantastic, as always.”
Mauricio: “We’ve 71 points (in the calendar year) and that’s fantastic for us. Our mentality is to always try to win and try to improve. We’re in a good position and now we look forward to the next game against Watford.”
