The Belgian international left the field during the first half of Wednesday night’s Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen and was labelled doubtful for the trip to the Emirates.
But not only was the midfielder able to play, he put in a full 90-minute shift and was instrumental in us taking a point, driving into the box and winning the penalty from which the returning Harry Kane equalised in the second period.
His performance earned praise from far and wide in the post-match reckoning and our supporters were equally impressed, selecting him as Man of the Match with 58 per cent of their votes on Facebook and Twitter.
MAN OF THE MATCH – ARSENAL AWAY
Mousa Dembele – 58%
Harry Kane – 17%
Jan Vertonghen – 16%
Victor Wanyama – 9%
As always, thank you to everyone who voted.
