The midfield starlet earned formal recognition for a fine first season in the top flight when he was named PFA Young Player of the Year on Sunday night.
A lively and bubbly character on and off the pitch, the 20-year-old has previously spoken about how much he enjoys operating within our young and talented group of players under the tutelage of Mauricio.
Now, after seeing Dele collect his award – and earn a place in the PFA Team of the Year alongside team-mates Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose – our Head Coach has returned the compliment.
“I’m very pleased, very happy for him,” said Mauricio. “He deserves this trophy and it’s great that other players recognise him as the Young Player of the Year.
“It’s fantastic to work with him, I want to congratulate him for his achievement and be sure also to congratulate Danny, Toby and Harry because they are in the Team of the Year with Dele.
“This is a fantastic achievement for the club but it’s important to recognise all the squad because I think from the beginning they’ve been brilliant with their performance and their behaviour.
“All can be recognised for us because the season so far has been fantastic.”
