Last week’s 4-0 victory at Stoke was a perfect example of the free-flowing football our squad likes to produce with quick touches of the ball and lightning-fast attacks causing the Potters all manner of problems.
Unfortunately we were unable to hit those heights in Monday night’s 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion and Sonny was as disappointed as anyone at the final whistle as we lost ground on Premier League leaders Leicester.
However, when asked about the players’ ability to link up so effectively over the course of the campaign, the South Korean international said it’s all about familiarity and knowledge of each other’s traits.
“The trust among the players – I think this is the important thing,” he said. “We are very young, we trust each other and we have a very good understanding.
“I think also the team mentality is important. We have confidence, we understand each other very well and this is a very big part of our play.
“We have a great team here with great fans and that all makes it a great atmosphere at our games. Everyone is positive, we’ve been playing for the title and it’s been a good season for every player. We all enjoy the games and I think the fans have enjoyed them too. Now we have to stay positive and keep working hard.”
