We’ve been unstoppable at White Hart Lane since the very beginning of the campaign, winning 14 and drawing two of our 16 matches to date.
That run has included memorable triumphs over the likes of Manchester City (2-0), West Ham (3-2) and Premier League leaders Chelsea (2-0), not to mention victories over Gillingham, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City by at least four goals without reply.
Sunday’s clash with the Potters was the first of four consecutive fixtures in N17 with league matches against Everton and Southampton to come, not to mention a crucial FA Cup quarter-final tie with Millwall.
England international Eric recognises that we’ve done particularly well on home soil – and wants to make the most of that form in what he sees as three crucial fixtures on the horizon.
“It’s really important that we keep our home record the way it is,” said the versatile defender. “It’s been very good so far, we’ve got a great crowd and I think we have a fantastic connection with them because of the way we play so we just need to keep going with all these important matches coming up.
“We’ve got to carry on playing in the same way and hopefully keep our good record at home in the next few games.”
Asked how much of a factor the crowd has been to our efforts on the pitch thus far, Eric replied: “I think it’s obviously a factor. The crowd really gets behind us and we’ve been really good this season at home.
“We’ve got a great record and now the aim is to keep that going until the end of the season.”
