The team set new bests in all categories of a memorable 2016-17 season in the Premier League – but one resonates further in terms of the history of the Club.

Unbeaten at home all season, we lost just four matches of the 38 on our way to second place, and that is the fewest number of defeats in a top flight season.

By top flight, we mean the old First Division until 1992 and the change to the Premier League era in 1992-93.

Four defeats in a season matches the Club's all-time best set in the old Second Division all the way back in 1919-20.

In total, we've had 17 league seasons with fewer than 10 defeats, 11 in the top flight.
