Newport County date set

We will visit Newport County in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday 27 January, kick-off 5.30pm.

The match, at Rodney Parade, will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

It's only the third time the two clubs have ever met in the competition. Both previous occasions came in consecutive seasons, in 1958-59 and 1959-60. We won both matches, enjoying a 4-1 success at White Hart Lane in January, 1959, thanks to a brace apiece from Bobby Smith and Dave Dunmore, before a 4-0 win at Newport the following January – Les Allen (2), Danny Blanchflower and Smith on target.

We made it through to this season’s fourth round after beating AFC Wimbledon 3-0 at Wembley last Sunday, while League Two Newport stunned Leeds United 2-1 at home.
