Paul Robinson was left in little doubt as to the most important phase of the impressive win against Bolton. There were two distinct parts to the game – the first 30 minutes, when we stormed into a 3-0 lead with some of our best football this season and then the final hour, having lost Robbie Keane to a red card and Bolton reducing the lead to 3-1, when we defended stoutly, looked dangerous on the break and finally completed the scoring via Aaron Lennon.

“I think the second half showed the character and belief in the team,” reflected Robbo.

“The first half was good but the second half showed confidence, courage and a great togetherness - we won that half 1-0 as well.

“We created more than them in the second half and it was a great performance.

“We weren’t playing against mugs here, Bolton are strong and it was one of our best displays of the season. We've had a great week. We had a difficult time before this week but we've proved a few people wrong.”
