Fight for the right

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

John Gorman says we will have to earn the right to play our passing game against Leicester City on Saturday.

The Foxes need to scrap for every point. They are marooned at the bottom of the Premiership, five points adrift of resurgent Derby County and now eight points away from the safety zone.

"They need to fight for every point and Dave Bassett will get them going, that's for sure," insisted our assistant boss.

"They'll come here and give us a real hard game and we have to expect that.

"We'll have to battle, fight, scrap for every ball and then play football.

"Everyone has seen how we can pass the ball and that's how we want to play - sharp, one, two-touch football and creating chances at the end of it."

Both John and boss Glenn Hoddle are determined to return to winning ways in the Premiership after performing so well in cup competitions.

Memorable victories against Chelsea and Bolton have sandwiched disappointing league results against Newcastle United and Derby County.

John added: "Performances have been good but results have gone against us. Newcastle, we started well but they are a good side. The goals came at bad times and that was disappointing.

"Against Derby I thought we dominated but we didn't quite have the same edge to the game as we've had in the cups.

"That is what we've got to get now in the league and that's where the fans can come into it, especially at home.

"They are very important to us and they can help by getting behind us and encouraging the team. Sometimes things can be difficult out there and that's when they can come into their own."
