Grant Ward played his part as Rotherham United secured a vital victory in their bid to avoid relegation from the Championship on Saturday.

Our on-loan midfielder was in the Millers’ starting XI for their 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday, being substituted in stoppage time at the end of the game as the visitors saw out the closing moments.

Rotherham are now on 32 points but remain three points from safety.

In Scotland, Dominic Ball played 90 minutes for Rangers as they cruised into the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 home victory over Dundee. Mark Warburton’s men have been drawn against Celtic in the last four.

Elsewhere, DeAndre Yedlin enjoyed a solid outing for Sunderland as they drew 1-1 away to Southampton in the Premier League while, in League One, Nathan Oduwa went on as a 54th-minute substitute for Colchester United but was unable to prevent his side from suffering a 2-0 defeat at Port Vale.

Connor Ogilvie, meanwhile, was once again ever-present at left-back for Stevenage as they lost 2-0 at home to Portsmouth in League Two.

In Spain, Federico Fazio was an unused substitute for Sevilla in their 1-1 La Liga draw away to Getafe.

Sunday afternoon saw Alex Pritchard named on the bench for West Bromwich Albion as they hosted Manchester United in the Premier League, but the attacking midfielder remained unused in the Baggies’ eventual 1-0 win.
