The midfielder struck twice for the German side in their 3-0 victory over Mainz, taking his tally to three goals in two games after he notched in a 1-1 draw at Augsburg last Saturday as well.

Elsewhere on the continent this month, young midfielder Filip Lesniak resurfaced at Czech side Slovan Liberec when he went on as a second-half substitute in their 5-1 Czech Cup win at Pisek on October 13.

In France, attacker Clinton Njie has started the last two games for Marseille in Ligue 1, a 1-0 win at home to Metz on October 16 followed by a goalless draw at PSG on Sunday, being substituted at half-time in the latter match, while defender Federico Fazio has been ever-present for Italian side Roma in Serie A wins over Napoli (3-1 away) and Palermo (4-1 at home) as well as a 3-3 home draw with Austria Vienna in the Europa League since the latest international break.

Closer to home, Luke McGee (pictured, above) continues to be first-choice goalkeeper for League One side Peterborough United, playing in a 3-1 home win against Bury, a 2-0 loss at Fleetwood, a 3-0 home triumph over Northampton Town and most recently – on Saturday (October 22) – a 1-0 reverse at home to AFC Wimbledon. Spurs colleague Nathan Oduwa stepped off the bench for the last 15 minutes at Fleetwood, but has otherwise remained an unused substitute for Peterborough.

Attacking midfielder Will Miller, meanwhile, has seen further game time in the Championship with Burton Albion. After starting and playing for just under an hour in a goalless draw at Wigan Athletic on August 15, he was introduced as a substitute for the final nine minutes in Friday’s 2-0 home victory over Birmingham City.
