Advice for our supporters making the trip to Moldova for our Europa League group fixture against FC Sheriff on Thursday.

FC Sheriff’s stadium - Stadionul Sheriff in Tiraspol - is located in the Transnistrian region of Moldova.

This region declared itself independent from Moldova in 1990. Transnistria is not under the control of Moldova authorities and there is an administrative boundary between the region and Moldova.

Documents need to be completed at this border, therefore you should have your passport with you when you are at this point of your journey.

The airport in Chisinau is one-and-a-half hours drive from the stadium.

There is a minibus service number 165 that goes to the centre of Chisinau and there are also a number of taxis that will transport you to the town centre; however it was suggested that a price for the ride is agreed before you enter the taxi.

We have been advised that there are no real problems with crime in either Chisinau or Transnistria - however travelling supporters should be vigilant and if faced with any issue, please contact the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, website here...

UK sterling is not accepted in the country. The currency in Chisinau is the Moldovan Leu and in Transnistria, the currency is the Ruble. Both currencies are closed so cannot be used outside of Moldova.

We have also been advised to inform supporters that it is an arrestable offence to take photographs of the Police, Army or Government Buildings in both Chisinau and Trannistria.

Stadium details

Sheriff’s stadium - Stadionul Sheriff in Tiraspol - has a capacity of 13,000.

Our supporters will be directed to the entry gate once they have collected their ticket from a member of Tottenham Hotspur Staff.

There will be Spurs Stewards on hand to assist you if required.

Our supporters will be located in Sector 15. The stadium will open at 6pm local time, two hours before kick-off.

Catering and welfare facilities are good and will be solely used by Spurs fans.

All seats have allocated numbers and the area will have sufficient security.

As always, the recognised list of prohibited items applies. Security and Police will carry out searches at two points on entry to the stadium.

Flags and banners will be checked on entry and only those with appropriate wording will be allowed in. It is common policy and ground rules at football stadia in the UK and Europe, that flags and banner of an overly religious/sectarian/political nature will not be permitted and may be confiscated. Please respect this request.

As with all European fixtures, alcohol will not be available within the stadium.

It is likely that Spurs fans will be held back for 15-20 minutes. Please listen to the announcements, which will be made in English, for further instructions and again, please be patient during the waiting period.

The Club is looking into the possibility of supplying coaches to and from Chisinau at a pre-arranged meeting place to assist with the fans crossing the border. This information will be passed to all supporters who travel to this fixture.

The Club is rightly proud of our record of good behaviour during previous European travels and we would ask that you uphold this by respecting local amenities and cultures.

Please do not place flags on local statues or historic monuments, including architecture, as this may offend the local people.

Remember to have the correct Travel Insurance prior to travelling.

Finally, you are an Ambassador of the Club and we would respectfully request that you behave accordingly throughout the entirety of your visit.
