The towering centre-half this week reported back to the Training Centre following international duty with Argentina, having played 90 minutes for his country in their 2-1 friendly victory over Croatia.
Quickly turning his attentions to Sunday’s visit to the KC Stadium, the former Sevilla man was keen to emphasise the need for a good performance and maximum points after a disappointing defeat to Stoke City a fortnight ago.
“We need to change our fortunes,” he said. “Hull away is a difficult game to play, but we need to think only about the game and the three points.
“I have seen Hull on the TV this year and also last year but this is a match where we need to think only about ourselves.
“We have to be together on the pitch and we need to improve as a team.”
